NORTHEASTERN CENTER 2024 COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT FINDINGS NOW AVAILABLE
The Northeastern Center’s (NEC) bi-annual Community Health Needs Assessment was conducted in the first quarter of 2024. This survey is sent out every two years and assesses community needs for NEC’s primary service areas of DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble & Steuben counties.
This assessment sought to gather information from community members regarding their observations on the behavioral health needs within the communities NEC serves. Input from members of the community is vital to the work of NEC and helps to plan, facilitate and bolster services that are most beneficial to the needs of the communities served. It also provides an opportunity to gauge progress towards meeting the needs established in previous years need assessments.
Based on the 2024 CHNA, identified priority areas for behavioral health are substance use disorders, child health, and suicide prevention. These issues represent a consistent thread among other community assessments and reinforce the notion that issues are solved at the local level, together. NEC continues to provide a full continuum of quality behavioral health services for mental health and substance abuse that meet accreditation, regulatory, and best practice standards.
